10th edition of International Video Film Festival from lome from August 7 – 14, 2020 postponed from October 9 – 16, 2020

Cultural expression is above all that of freedom. No art can take shape and flourish in a straitjacket of oppression. The ambition aims above all to make culture the very heart of the emancipation project, to develop critical thinking, curiosity of individuals and not just to organize their entertainment on Saturday evenings. In countries with strong cultural diversity, the enhancement of different national cultures promotes inter-ethnic and inter-community balance and, therefore, political and social stability. The development of a diversified culture accessible to the populations contributes to the awareness of differences, to mutual knowledge and to the opening of the minds of individuals and communities. Cultural diversity and richness inspire respect for others and the desire for peace. Participation in artistic activities integrating members of different communities and the cross-dissemination of artistic and cultural forms of expression between conflicting ethnic groups contributes to interethnic dialogue and the reduction of psychological distances.

This is why it is important for each member state to be able to set up a cinema film festival that educates people about cinematographic culture.

The FIFIVIL festival is a competition open to all short and feature documentary and fiction video films from around the world. He will see the participation of professionals and personalities from the world of cinema and human rights from all continents. It is a large international cinema event which wants to put a particular emphasis on cinematographic and audiovisual production with digital video support which introduces new work perspectives for professionals from African countries and for this edition and the same for editions in coming the festival will give pride of place to films dealing with human rights and freedom of expression.
